Mallorca is a beautiful island that has to be visited on each season at least once in life. We’d like to start with a series of blog-posts to go explaining to you how to spend a day in Majorca according to the season we’re at.
Since the beginning, Vacalia has wanted to be your guide when it comes to our beloved island or the charming Costa Blanca. As you might now, our offices are located in Mallorca and, almost all of our employees are locals, which means we’re able to give you the best advices you’ll find. Said this, let’s start with our:
Autumn day in Majorca: north-west
Let’s start the day being morning-birds. Remember that holidays are not eternals and that you still have SO MUCH to see. Let’s imagine we wake up in Palma (oh, lucky us!), an idyllic city. It’s crowded streets, its cutest shops, laughs coming from the bars terraces…
9 a.m.: We can’t start the day on an empty stomach! The best place to have lunch at is, no doubt, Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo. This iconic and centenary bar in Palma is known for its delicious “Gato” pie and its ensaimadas along a hot chocolate. Besides, you need to remember that we’re in Autumn and a warm breakfast will make wonders on us!
10 a.m.: You already have the highest of energy and it’s time to explore the architectonical wonders of the city. First stop, La seu, but before, what about a walk through Passeig del Born or Avinguda Antoni Maura? In there you’ll be able to observe one of the prettiest Ramblas of Mallorca, specially now that leaves are falling. This walk will last as long as you wish so and, in the meantime, you can check some shop or visit some museum.
11 a.m.: It’s arrival time to Majorca’s cathedral, most known as La Seu. This impressive architectonical building started in the XIII Century is one of the most important spots in Mallorca, not just due to its beauty, but also due to its religious character. Besides, La Seu was adapted at 20th Century beginning by Antoni Gaudi. It also has had the contribution of Miquel Barceló, specifically in the “Capilla del Santíssimo”, one of its chapels. In there, Barceló created a mural inspired by the miracle of the breads and the fishes. No doubt, a visit that will be totally worth it.
13.30 p.m.: Lunch time! Here you’re totally free to choose, but we highly recommend you Restaurante Bruselas, the veggie Restaurante y herbodietética EcoVegetariana or the amazing location of Ristorante Café Murada.
15.30 p.m.: Going back to your amazing Autumn day in Mallorca, why not going to visit one of the prettiest towns in Mallorca? Valldemossa. This lovely valley (the name says it all) is located 20 mins away from Palma by car and hides wonders such La Cartuja de Valldemossa and its little labrinth or its old-town wide streets decorated with all kind of plants and flowers. Besides, it’s mandatory to have a Coca de Patata for breakfast, a typical sweet from this town.
18.15 p.m.: Would you like to see the most amazing sunset of Mallorca? Then the moment you leave Valldemossa have to go to Es Mirador de Sa Foradada located in Deià. In this sightseeing you’ll be able to watch the sun melting with the sea while enjoying a nice drink from its “chiringito”.
19.30 p.m.: Time to go to have dinner! To do so, we highly recommend you to go to some north-center towns such as Binissalem, Santa Maria, Consell, Sencelles… You’ll see the other face of Majorca and you’ll love it for sure!
23 p.m.: After a lovely dinner, some cocktails and many laughs (for sure), it’s time to go back home and have some rest cause tomorrow it’s time for another advertures day. We really hope you enjoyed today!
