Palma de Mallorca is, no doubt, one of the most cosmopolita cities of the whole Mediterranean Sea. Its long bay, crowded streets, or the wide leisure opportunities that both locals both tourists find in it, are just some of the wonders of this city.

Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró was born as Joan Miró personal workspace and was given, along all the pices of art and other objects to the Foundation that they created to spread the art and its creation in an inmitate space connected with the contemporaneity.
Miró wanted to help other artists by letting them a private space to develop their painting, music or writting.
Nowadays the Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró is more than a school open to artists, it’s also a museum where we can discover his masterpieces, technichs and the enviroment that sorrounded him.
Es Baluard | Museums in Palma de Mallorca
Es Baluard is a Modern and Contemporaneal Art Museum located in Palma that has more than 600 pieces of Balearic or International artists. Expositions, conferences and all kind of creative activities are perfomed to awake the cultural interest in everyone that visit it.
The building is from the XVI Century and was born as a defense tower, though it was not until 1997 that its lands were given to Palma’s council to build Es Blauard Museu d’Art Modern i Contemporani de Palma.
CaixaForum Palma | Museums in Palma de Mallorca
This museum belongs to Fundación La Caixa and was founded in 1993 in a modernist hotel created by the cataln architect Doménech i Montaner. In 1987 the building was recovered by Fundació La Caixa after some damages from the Civil War and the dictatorship. Nowadays it helds a permanent exposition by Anglada-Camarasa, besides temporary expositions, library, video-library and a newspaper archive.

The Museum of Mallorca can be found in Casal de Can Aiamans, a building made by Miquel Lluís Ballester de Togores i Salas in 1634 that helds different collections based in archeology, fine arts, ethnography, decoration and industry
The house has a barrocan style with gothic and islamic pieces that have lasted along the different centuries.
The museum wants to foment the cultural and scientific knowledge through its different expositions that want to show the multiple changes that the island has suffered along the different centuries.
Museu d’Història de la Ciutat | Museums in Palma de Mallorca
This building can be found in the emlemathic Castell de Bellver which is a Majorcan monument itself.
It’s located 3km away from the center of Palma, in top of a small mountain with sea-views. Along its history it’s served as royal residence, militar prison, money factury and, finally, as History of the City Museum.
In it we’ll find different permanent collections such as: Palma’s Urban evolution, Despuig collection or Jovellanos Room, besides from other temporal collections. There’re also other cultural activities that are made every once in a while to share the history of Palma with its visitors.
