The Sanctuary of Cura is located near Randa and is an impressive building located on top of a hill on the island of Mallorca. This sanctuary is a place of pilgrimage and a popular tourist destination, where we can also find breathtaking panoramic views of the island.
The sanctuary dates back to the 13th century and has been renovated and enlarged several times over the years. The current facade, in neo-Gothic style, was built in the 19th century and is one of the highlights of the sanctuary. The interior of the church has a central nave, a series of side chapels and a main altar with an impressive image of the Virgin Mary.
The Cura de Randa Sanctuary also has a series of outbuildings, such as a cloister and a hostelry, which were used in the past to house pilgrims. Today, these outbuildings have been renovated and are used as event space and accommodation for tourists.
The location of the Cura de Randa Sanctuary on top of a hill offers breathtaking views of the island of Mallorca. Visitors can climb to the top of the hill on foot or by car, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding landscape.
The sanctuary is also a place of pilgrimage and features a number of religious festivals throughout the year, including the celebration of the feast of the Virgin of Cura in September.
