This wonderful villa with private pool from the XVIII century is located in Sant Joan, in the centre of Mallorca and welcomes 6 guests.
In front of the house there's the private, 7.5m x 3.5m chlorine pool with a depth ranging from 1.1m to 1.7m. Surrounded by a terrace with six sun loungers, an exterior shower and two sun umbrellas, it's a lovely spot to relax while overlooking the countryside. A kitchen equipped with vitro hob, BBQ and crockery was build next to the pool so you can cook outside. Several terraces invite to dream and read. The plot is fenced and the house is detached at the rear.
Stylistically, it's a mix between antic elements, modern equipment and romantic style, so you can feel like home. The cosy sitting-dining room with satellite-TV has a fireplace and a dining corner. Formerly, this room has been used for feeding the animals and because of that, you can still see an antic manger in the living area. There's a fully-equipped kitchen with vitro hob and a laundry with washer, iron and ironing board as well as a shower bathroom.
The first floor offers one twin bedroom (beds 90cm x 190cm) and two bedrooms with one double bed each (one bed measures 135cm x 190cm and the other 150cm x 190cm), all with fan and wardrobe. The bedroom with the big double bed has a private bathroom with shower and bath tub and a TV (Spanish channels). Furthermore, there's a shower bathroom on the first floor. We can provide a cot and a high chair for our youngest guests. All bedrooms are fitted with A/C.
This estate forms part of Majorca's history and has been declared as Historic Heritage of Sant Joan. The first historical record is dating back to the XVII. century and the building has been growing continuously, until the end of the XIX. and XX. century. Formerly, the building consist of a wine cellar, stalls and mangers for the animals. The whole cottage is very spacious and surrounds a patio, but actually the owners rent only a part of it and the old patio is not accessible.
Surrounded by fields and three genuine Majorcan villages; Sant Joan, Vilafranca de Bonany and Montuïri; the zone is perfect for cycling and hiking. 300m away there's a good restaurant where home-made food is served also for take-away. A riding-stable can be found in Randa and they offer nice excursions as well. By car or bicycle you can visit the chapel of the Santuari de Cura and enjoy panoramic views.
A car is necessary to move on the island and to go to the beach. A 30 minutes' drive takes you to the east coast and to Cala Anguila-Cala Mendia, a fine grained sand beach with crystal clear waters. Northwards is the Drach Caves, famous for its subterranean lake. In the fishing village Porto Cristo you can eat fresh fish and seafood.
